How to Set Up an IMVU Room Radio (AzuraCast & CentovaCast)

Broadcasting Live to Your IMVU Room #

If you run a virtual club or just want to listen to your custom radio station with your friends in IMVU, you will need to add your unique Stream URL to an interactive radio item inside your 3D room.
This guide will show you exactly where to find the correct stream link in both AzuraCast and CentovaCast, and how to paste it into IMVU.

Part 1: Find Your Stream URL #

Depending on which hosting plan you purchased from AZ-StreamingServer, you will use either AzuraCast or CentovaCast. Follow the steps for your specific control panel below.

Option A: Finding Your Link in AzuraCast (Cloud Plans) #

  1. Log in to your AzuraCast dashboard.
  2. Click on the Manage button next to your radio station.
  3. On your main station profile page, scroll down to the Streams section.
  4. You will see your main broadcast mount point (usually named radio.mp3 or 128kbps).
  5. Right-click the blue “Play” button or the “Download .pls” button and select Copy Link Address.
  6. Save this link to your clipboard! (It will look something like this: https://your-server.az-streamingserver.com/listen/station/radio.mp3)

Option B: Finding Your Link in CentovaCast (Shared Plans) #

  1. Log in to your CentovaCast control panel.
  2. Look at the menu on the left-hand side and click on Quick Links (under the General section).
  3. Scroll down to the “Tune In” section.
  4. Locate the Winamp (.pls) or Apple Music (.m3u) icon.
  5. Right-click the icon and select Copy Link Address.
  6. Save this link to your clipboard! (It will look something like this: http://192.168.x.x:8000/listen.pls)

Part 2: Add the URL to Your IMVU Room #

Now that you have your streaming link, it is time to connect it to the game.

  1. Open the IMVU client and enter a Room that you own.
  2. Ensure you have purchased and placed an interactive Radio item or DJ Booth in your room (available in the IMVU catalog).
  3. Hold the Ctrl key and click on the radio item to open its settings menu.
  4. In the text box that appears, Paste the Stream URL you copied from AzuraCast or CentovaCast.
  5. Click Save or Play.
  6. Turn up your volume! The stream will buffer for a few seconds, and then your music will begin playing live in the room for all avatars to hear.

⚠️ Troubleshooting & Pro-Tips #

  • My music isn’t playing! IMVU can sometimes be picky about URL formats. If your link ends in .mp3 and isn’t working, try changing the end of the link to .pls or .m3u and pasting it into the IMVU radio again.
  • Live DJ Handoffs: If you are using AzuraCast, you can switch between the AutoDJ and live DJs without ever having to update the link in your IMVU room! The system handles the transition automatically, so your virtual club never goes silent.
  • Stream Latency: Remember that live audio takes about 5 to 10 seconds to travel from your broadcasting software to the IMVU client. This is completely normal for internet radio.
